American families can improve their nation’s ranking as
#1 contributor of greenhouse-gas emissions

(Toronto, 12 February 2008) – In this case, #1 is not an honor. More than ever, global warming and other environmental issues are top of mind with consumers. However, while “going green” has become a catchphrase, many families have yet to make the transition. Why? While the U.S. government continues to debate their position on environmental policies, people are wondering, “How can my family make a significant difference?” To answer this question, TBS New Media Ltd. has brought together a number of renowned environmental experts and released a line of instructional DVDs entitled, The Living Series: Learn to Live a Greener Life. The videos will be available at Sam’s Club and several other major retailers in time for Earth Day on April 22, and are currently available at Kroger’s Quality Food Centers and Haggen Food & Pharmacy.

“I thought I was living ‘green’ by recycling and switching to CFL bulbs. However, while researching the topic, I realized I knew very little,” said Saul Nir, Chief Creative Officer of TBS New Media. “There are many other simple changes that families can adopt. Instructional DVDs, such as The Living Series, have not been available until now. Each of the six videos in the series is presented in concise one hour episodes. We hope this tool will help families take the next step to reducing their ecological footprint on our planet.”

The Living Series covers topics from energy conservation and green cleaning, to cooking green and green gardening. Experts include:

  • Emmanuel Rey, founder of EnviroMaid™, an eco-friendly cleaning service
  • Cheryl Shour, chemical-free lawn care expert, founder of the Organic Landscape Alliance, and lead author of the Public Health Guide on Natural Lawn and Garden Care
  • Julie Daniluk, Certified Nutritionist and organic food expert
  • Ford Underwood, Certified Energy Advisor & Energy Efficiency Consultant
  • Rob Grand, environmentalist and green consumer product expert
